Drawing competition for kids

TACIS project „ Strengthening Civil Society” announce the drawing competition for children aged 10-14 years on the following topics:

  1. Lonely elderly” Who should take care of single elderly? What can each of us and society in general do to make such old men feel welcomed? How do children and teenagers see the future society and the place of elderly in it?
  2. “The problems of child and family” Who is taking care of children whose parents are working abroad? Boarding school – life challenge or trauma?
  3. “Children with disabilities” Children on wheelchairs- how different from us they are?  What can we offer them so they could feel less isolated?

For the contest are eligible drawings realized in any technique – pencil, aquarelle, gouache, crayons, etc on A4 format paper. For participation in the competition candidate must present at least one drawing related to the topic mentioned earlier. On the back side of paper please write the name of author, age and contact information.

The evaluation of materials will be done by an independent council by the following criterion:

  1. Relevance to the topic The work should reflect the topic mentioned above. We are interested in drawings which will reflect authors attitude towards this social problem
  2. Creativity and originality  We will select the works of those children, which will avoid patterns and stereotypes. Original ideas and unusual techniques of works are welcome!!!
  3. Accuracy of realization The drawing must be finalized, we shall not accept tear, dirty and wrinkled papers. However, if the inaccuracy is connected to the technique of realization it shall be admitted as the author’s right.

The best works will be awarded and published in project information newsletter “Civic Vector”. The authors of best works will receive prizes and diplomas from the project team.

The relatives of project staff are not eligible to participate in the competition.

Drawings can be submitted to project’s office in Chisinau or handled to our RCs coordinators in Ungheni, Hincesti, Edinet and Comrat by 17:00, June 15th , 2007.

The results of competition will be announced at the end of July and published at project’s web site. www.civilsociety.org.md
